Yearly wage formulas
For hourly workers, annual gross wage equals the hourly rate times hours per week times effective weeks worked:
Overtime paid at a premium rate adds to the base annual wage:
Worked example: $25 per hour, 40 hours per week
- Hourly rate: $25.00
- Hours per week: 40
- Weeks per year: 52 (no unpaid time off)
- Annual wage: $25 x 40 x 52 = $52,000.00
- Monthly equivalent: $52,000 / 12 = $4,333.33
